Türkiye Visa and e-Visa InformationFrequently asked questions

Türkiye Visa and e-Visa Information

This page explains how the Türkiye visa and e-Visa process works on Visas.org.tr, and answers the questions travellers arrive with. What applies to one person depends on the country or region of the travel document, the document type, the intended arrival date and any additional condition recorded for that combination.

Where this page and your own transaction differ, your transaction is what counts: the result produced for your exact selections, and the price shown to you before payment, take precedence over any general statement here.

Terms used on this page

Eligibility check
The short set of questions the application starts with, which identifies the route your selections lead to.
Validity period
The date range in which a travel permission may be used to enter.
Permitted stay
The maximum number of days a traveller may remain under that permission.
Reference number
The code issued when a transaction is created. With the email address used, it is what the status page asks for.

Before you apply

Who can apply for a Türkiye e-Visa?

Eligibility is not decided by nationality alone. The country or region of the travel document, the document type, the intended arrival date and — for some nationalities — the traveller's age are assessed together. A traveller from a country that generally uses the electronic route may still be outside it because of the document or a condition attached to it.

The eligibility check returns the route that applies to your selections: an electronic visa application, a visa-exempt result, a result stating that a consular or sticker visa is required, or a document problem to correct before continuing.

Which travel documents can be used?

The ordinary passport is the main route. Some countries and regions have other travel-document types recorded for them, and the form offers only the types recorded for the selection you make. If the document you hold is not offered, the electronic route does not cover it and the check will say so.

Is my travel document valid long enough?

The document must satisfy the validity rule that applies to the route produced for you, and the expiry date you enter is assessed against it. This page does not publish a general number of months, because the required margin follows the route and the stay recorded for that combination rather than a single figure.

If the document is not valid long enough, renew it and start a new check with the renewed document.

What is a supporting document?

Some nationalities must additionally hold a valid visa or residence permit issued by one of a listed group of countries or areas. The application shows the exact type and the accepted issuers for your selection; it is not a free choice.

The supporting document must be valid, and electronic visas are not accepted as one. It must also still be valid on the date of entry into Türkiye.

Does every traveller need their own application?

Yes. Each traveller, including an infant or a child, is assessed separately and needs the permission required for that traveller. A parent or authorised representative may complete the process for a child, but the child's own details must be entered and checked.

Which travel purposes does the electronic route cover?

It is intended for eligible short-term tourism and trade travel. Work, study, long-term residence, family reunification, medical treatment or another purpose may require a different visa or permission obtained through the competent authorities.

The check could not produce a result for my combination. Why?

First check the nationality, document type, date of birth, arrival date and any supporting-document answer you entered; a single wrong selection changes the route. Review the corrected details before starting a new check.

For a small number of combinations the rules held here cannot produce a confident answer. In that case the platform says so instead of guessing, and directs you to the competent Turkish mission or authority.

If you are unsure what the result is telling you, use the Türkiye contact page.

Applying, dates and what you pay

How does an application start?

It starts with the eligibility check. It asks only what is needed to identify the route, and additional questions appear only where they apply to your selections. When the result allows it, the application continues from there with the remaining questions.

How far ahead can I choose an arrival date?

An arrival date up to 90 days ahead can be selected. Dates beyond that window are not offered by the form.

When should I apply?

As early as you can. The processing options the form is able to offer depend on how much time is left before the arrival date you selected, and a daily cut-off applies, so options fall away as the date approaches.

Applying early also leaves time to correct information or to deal with a payment or technical problem. Do not make non-refundable travel arrangements on the assumption that a pending application will be finished by a particular time.

What will I pay?

The application price consists of the e-Visa document fee and the service fee for the processing option you choose. These are listed as separate items.

Your document fee and processing charge are listed separately in US dollars on the application summary you confirm before continuing to payment. The amounts follow the combination assessed and the option selected, so no figure is published on this page.

Can I apply through the official portal instead?

Yes. The official government portal for the Türkiye e-Visa is evisa.gov.tr, and eligible applicants may use it directly.

What is offered here is a separate paid application-support service. It is not that portal, and it is governed by the service and price information shown before confirmation.

Can I correct information after I submit?

Check every field on the review step, and enter names, dates and document numbers exactly as they appear on the travel document you will use for the journey. Information on a processed visa document cannot be amended afterwards.

If something material is wrong, a new application may be required and the earlier payment may not be refundable. The Cancellation and refund terms state what applies.

After payment: delivery and status

What happens after payment?

The transaction moves through the stages recorded in the Visas.org.tr workflow. Keep the reference number shown on the confirmation screen: with the email address used in the transaction, it is what the status page asks for.

How do I check the status of an application?

The status page asks for two things and both are required: the reference number issued for the transaction, and the email address used in that transaction.

The reference has a fixed shape, for example PRE-A1B2C-D3E4F-G5H6J-K7M8N, and letter case does not matter. The email address is only compared with the address recorded on the transaction; it is never shown back to you.

What does a status shown here mean?

It reports the stage recorded in the Visas.org.tr workflow: for example that information was received, that a correction is needed, that payment is pending, that a provider response is awaited, or that the transaction is complete.

It is not a decision of a competent authority and it is not a border decision. Read the detailed result and the next action shown with it, not the label on its own.

How is the visa document delivered?

Where the electronic route applies, the permission is an electronic document. Keep an accessible digital or printed copy for the journey; it may be checked electronically at the border, but a copy you can produce yourself is what protects you if a check cannot be made.

Entry to Türkiye

Does a visa or e-Visa guarantee entry?

No. A visa is an important travel document, but the competent officers at the port of entry decide entry under the applicable rules. Passport, purpose, supporting-document and other entry requirements must also be met at that moment.

Validity period, permitted stay, number of entries: what is the difference?

Validity period
The date range in which the permission may be used to enter.
Permitted stay
The maximum number of days you may remain under that permission, counted per entry where the permission says so.
Number of entries
Whether the permission may be used once or more than once inside the validity period.

These are three different values and they are shown for your own transaction. This page does not publish figures for them, because they follow the combination assessed rather than a single published rule.

You do not have to enter on the first day of the validity period. Entry may take place on an eligible date inside that period, but not before it begins.

What does a visa-exempt result mean?

It means the traveller and travel document you selected may travel without obtaining the visa covered by that result, subject to the applicable purpose, stay and entry conditions. It does not remove passport-validity, permitted-stay or other entry requirements.

A visa-exempt result does not by itself say whether travel insurance is needed or unnecessary. Check the entry conditions in force and the terms of any insurance policy separately.

What if a consular or sticker visa is required?

Follow the procedure of the competent Turkish mission or authority for the intended purpose of travel. The required documents, the appointment process and the decision time belong to that procedure and differ from the electronic route.

Travel insurance

Is travel insurance required?

It depends on the traveller, the route, the purpose of travel and the conditions in force. Your transaction may show that insurance is required, that it is recommended, or that travel insurance is available without any statement that it is mandatory; some results show no insurance offer at all.

  • check the entry conditions that apply to the traveller;
  • read the insurer, period, coverage and exclusions in the policy documents before confirming;
  • do not treat an offer shown here as proof that insurance is legally mandatory;
  • do not treat a visa-exempt result as proof that insurance is unnecessary.

Can I buy travel insurance without a visa application?

Yes. The insurance application can be started on its own. Where information from an earlier visa application may lawfully be reused it can be prefilled for review, but every item must be checked and the policy-specific fields completed.

Who provides the insurance cover?

The operator of this platform acts as an insurance agency. The licensed insurance company named in your quotation or policy provides the cover and decides risk acceptance, policy conditions, claims and indemnity.

What Visas.org.tr is not

This is a private application-support service. It is not a government website and it is not the official application portal.

  • It does not issue visas or residence permissions and does not act with the powers of a government authority.
  • It does not guarantee approval, a decision time, or entry into any country.
  • A result shown here is not a visa decision, and a status recorded here does not replace a decision of a competent authority or an insurer.
  • It does not provide insurance cover itself; the insurance company named in the quotation or policy does.

The official Türkiye e-Visa portal is evisa.gov.tr and eligible applicants may use it directly. What is paid for here is the preparation, checking and transmission of an application; the service price is shown in full before payment and is governed by the Website terms of use.
